R and R for Sunday, May 6th, 2012

Posted by Unknown on Sunday, May 6, 2012

Don't be dismayed at goodbyes.  A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.

R AND R TIP #100:  RELAX, It really isn't goodbye.

Celebrating my 100th entry on the Motivation Station is a bitter sweet affair.  After my 100th tip on Rest and Relaxation, I'll be ending my posts here on this blog.

The Motivation Station has always been a blog about encouraging others and my small part of it was to encourage you to get some R and R time in for yourself so that you can be the best you can be.

Hopefully something I've written helped you to do just that.  100 ways to rest and relax...who would have thought it possible?  I certainly had no idea where I was headed when I started making my Sunday entries here.  Time flies and so must I...

Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I'll miss you
Until we meet again!

but certainly expressed by me...

Many thanks to all the Motivation Station Team for letting me share my thoughts each week.  It's been a pleasure to be a part of such a great group.  And my thanks to everyone who has taken the time to refresh, relax, renew, rest, restore, regain, reboot, reduce, refocus and regroup... to get plenty of that wonderful R and R!

Be the BEST you can be!

Love, Live, Laugh and Be Happy!!!

IT'S TIME TO GIT!

Posted by Unknown on Friday, May 4, 2012

The time has come to say goodbye to TIME TO GIT as we say goodbye to THE Motivation Station! This will be our last session.  I wish you all a productive, happy and healthy way of life.  Be sure and visit me, Tamy, at IT IS WHAT IT IS aka 3 SIDES OF CRAZY.
The idea of a GIT Challenge is to play catch up with whatever we need to get done. Just leave a comment saying you'll play along, minimize this post so you can easily come back to it throughout the day, stop what you are doing (meaning get off the computer and stop procrastinating!), take an hour right now to catch up on things you need to do and work as fast as you can!

Come back every hour or two and leave a comment with your progress. Check out what other participants have accomplished - all in the comment section, no blog hopping necessary. After updating, get back to work for another hour or so until you're done for the day. We always accomplish so much during these challenges!

Jump in anytime, there's no special time to start or finish. It's fun working together - join us!

Although it’s time for The Motivation Station to close, I don’t want to think of it as good bye… As long as there are blogs we will all still be around… And as long as there are houses to clean and declutter, food to be cooked and eaten, weight to be lost and exercising to do, papers to file, computers to defragment, holidays, pets, children, school, homework, graduations, weddings and places to visit… We will be blogging about it and motivating as we do…

I’m so honored to have worked with all of you these past two and a half years… We’ve all learned and taught each other so much… I’m glad to call you friends and will always keep in touch…

Dear TMSers, Thank you for everything, your kindness, insight, and support. It's "Time to Say Goodbye" and I hope you enjoy this video of a song by the same name. Maybe we shouldn't say "Goodbye" but "Until We Meet Again", and may abundant blessings come to you and yours. Martha

R and R for Sunday, April 29th, 2012

R and R Tip # 99:  REFOCUS your thoughts and unwind

Sometimes we feel like our brain is tied up in knots.  Our thoughts resemble a massive ball of string, wound messily and tightly together.  When we get so busy with the details of our lives and the countless things we need to complete, we end up feeling exhausted and disconnected.
Our minds becomes clouded and unable to focus and we start to make poor decisions regarding our priorities. We end up working hard instead of working smart.
Here a few simple tips to clean your mind, untangle, unwind, and refocus to  get your mental house in order.
Deep breathing is a well documented way to regain some mental clarity.  Deep breathing increases the oxygen levels in your body and the brain benefits from more oxygen.
Walking might be the perfect way to exercise and it provides man of the same benefits of deep breathing along with the benefits of exercising your muscles.  Sometimes that movement will burn off some of the excess energy that anxiety squeezes into our minds
Very often we need to rethink the way we do things.  Think about your schedule, responsibilities and daily tasks.  If you have too much on your plate, distinguish between the shoulds and the musts.  Drop tasks that aren't truly necessary.

Don’t over commit. Whether in your personal or professional life, learn your limits and set boundaries. Know when to say, No

Reframe problems. Try to view stressful situations from a more positive perspective. Rather than fuming about a traffic jam, look at it as an opportunity to pause and regroup, listen to your favorite radio station, or enjoy some alone time

Focus on the positive. Take a moment to reflect on all the things you appreciate in your life, including your own positive qualities and gifts.

No single method works for everyone.  Try one and if it doesn't work, try another.  Many things in life are beyond our control. Rather than stressing out over them, focus on the things you can control such as the way you choose to react to problems.  If you regularly make time for fun and relaxation, you’ll be in a better place to handle life’s stressors when they inevitably come.

This is the next to the last tip I'll be sharing with you all.  Next week will be the final post on why Rest and Relaxation is so important in our lives.  I guess it's a good way to end - 100 tips on how to rest and relax, restore, refresh, repair, renew....  I've just about covered every thing I can think of to remind you about why you need R and R in your life.

Please make sure to check in next Sunday for my farewell entry.

Love, Live, Laugh and Be Happy!
