I joyfully accept the way God made me. God made me good. Very good, in fact. But He didn’t make me perfect.
R and R Tip #35: RECOVER from Perfectionism
When we can admit our mistakes and laugh at ourselves, It’s refreshing and takes a lot of the pressure off what could other wise be a stressful situation.
It’s easy to get into ruts, and some of them are so deep rooted we don’t give them a second thought. If we’re honest though, we’ll realize that much of what we routinely do works against our goals. Many of us get caught up in striving to be the perfect super person. We all have talents in which we excel but we can not be everything to everyone one.
The ultimate goal is a balanced life, with time for work, relationships, relaxation, and fun gives us the resilience to hold up under pressure and meet challenges head on. Remember those basic human needs, like good eating and sleep habits, regular exercise, and spending time alone instead of constant doing for others we can create a balanced lifestyle and will be better able to care for others needs.
Relaxation is one of those good habits that we need to make a part of our everyday life. It's not just a thing to do on Sunday's or when ever our day off happens to be, We cannot be perfect but we can strive to make ourselves the best we can be and that includes some REST and RELAXATION in order to give ourselves some RECOVERY time.
Make time for leisure activities that bring you joy, whether it be stargazing, playing the piano, or working on your bike.
See you all next Sunday!
Love, Live, Laugh and Be Happy!
